Healthnews24 is a South African supplement answer desk. We answer the questions people ask about protein, creatine, collagen, pre-workout, hydration and vitamins, in plain language, with dated Rand prices and the evidence behind every claim.
As of 27 October 2026 the site covers 330 answers, 15 comparisons, 270 products and 81 brands.
What makes our answers different
- Answer first. Every page opens with a direct answer you can act on, followed by the detail.
- South African prices, dated and sourced. We name the retailer and the month for every Rand figure and show cost per serving, per 30 g of protein, per 5 g of creatine or per 10 g of collagen so you compare like with like.
- Evidence levels, not hype. We rely on position stands and systematic reviews (International Society of Sports Nutrition, the IOC consensus on supplements, EFSA opinions) and say plainly when evidence is weak.
- Local context. Heat and humidity, Comrades and Two Oceans, school rugby and SAIDS anti-doping rules, SAHPRA and local labelling law.
