Answer first

ATP Fitness Hydrolysed Collagen is good value and very clean, but young and lightly documented. It is 100% hydrolysed bovine peptides at 10 g per scoop, with nothing added. The 910 g tub is R950 (R10.44 per 10 g), the cheapest single-ingredient powder we priced in South Africa (October 2026). Third-party testing and halaal status are not published.

  • ATP Fitness Hydrolysed Collagen is 100% hydrolysed bovine peptides at 10 g per scoop; the 910 g tub is R950 (R10.44 per 10 g) on the ATP shop (October 2026).
  • It is the cheapest collagen powder we priced; the median across the powders we priced is about R13.89 per 10 g.
  • A 30-day supply at 10 g a day costs about R313 (910 g tub) or R353 (450 g tub).
  • Third-party testing, heavy-metal certificates and halaal status are not published on the listings we read.

Is ATP Fitness Hydrolysed Collagen any good?

On price and ingredients, yes. On documentation and flexibility, it has gaps. This is a balanced look at the product, using the brand's shop listing and our October 2026 price comparison. The collagen evidence itself is emerging (AIS Group B), so judge it as a food-protein supplement and not a treatment.

What are the facts?

Item ATP Fitness Hydrolysed Collagen
Ingredient 100% hydrolysed bovine collagen peptides
Per scoop 10 g, unflavoured
Origin Peptides manufactured in Brazil
910 g R950 (ATP shop), 91 servings, R10.44 per 10 g, about R313 for 30 days
450 g R530 (ATP shop), 45 servings, R11.78 per 10 g
Brand ATP Fitness, South African, est. April 2024

What does it do well?

  • Price. At R10.44 per 10 g it undercuts every other collagen powder we priced, including The Harvest Table (R11.36), MetaBody (R11.20 on sale), Beauty Gen Complete (R11.65) and Biogen's unflavoured Peptan (R14.64). The median is about R13.89.
  • Clean label. No sweeteners, flavours, vitamin blends or fillers, in line with ATP's "Simple, Precise, Pure" approach.
  • Dose clarity. A stated 10 g per scoop makes costs and doses easy to compare.

What are the trade-offs?

  • Unflavoured, so it suits coffee, smoothies or soups but not drinking neat if you want taste.
  • Young brand (April 2024) with a smaller retail footprint than USN, Biogen or Evox, and we did not find a Takealot collagen listing.
  • Documentation: the peptide's type and specification, third-party sport testing, heavy-metal certificates and halaal status are not published on the listings we read.
  • Bovine only: not for beef avoiders or vegetarians; see marine vs bovine collagen.
  • Spec basis: the 10 g per scoop figure comes from the shop listing, and we could not re-verify it ourselves.

Who does it suit, and who not?

It suits value-focused buyers who want a plain bovine peptide at 5–10 g a day for skin or joint goals, and who accept an unflavoured product from a young brand. It does not suit people who need certified halaal status, third-party testing documents, a flavoured product or a marine source. Drug-tested athletes should ask ATP for batch documentation.

What are the alternatives?

  • The Harvest Table Bovine 800 g (R909, R11.36 per 10 g): Halaal and German origin per its listing.
  • Biogen Platinum Collagen with Peptan, unflavoured 280 g (R410, R14.64): a named branded peptide, Halaal stated by Biogen.
